THEORETICAL BACKGROUND

With built-in tactile screens and internet connectivity, our new weighing scale as we know it today at Precisa is a very high-tech instrument that provides precise measures to the next 0.0001g, resulting in the most effective, accurate, and dependable measurements. This has only sometimes been the case, though. Since the Middle Ages, the ability to measure objects has distinguished humans from other species. It has also been crucial for comprehending how society functions and the environment around us. Portable scales may be used whenever and wherever you need them because they are supplied by rechargeable or changeable batteries, which do not require a constant connection to the mains.


PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Some weighing scales on the market have improved over time. They have always needed to be bulkier to hold many loads. They are large and strong. However, at I-Balance, we prioritize weights' portability, functionality, and accuracy. Weight accuracy was essential in many industries even before we existed since it allowed us to measure a product. We maintained that accuracy while also becoming more portable and environmentally friendly. With our product, you can select from various units, including lbs, ozs, fl. ozs, and MLS, eliminating the need to purchase a separate weighing scale to weigh multiple units. Unlike traditional weighing scales, our weighing scale is digital and software-based, providing you with a comprehensive view of the material composition you measure. It has a long operating life since it features built-in solar cells powered by the sun. Did you forgot to record all your measurements? No need to worry because our weighing scale automatically saves your data and allows you to check it on your phone. Our weighing scale uses synching in various electrical devices, so you don't have to worry about forgetting the measurements you weigh.

PROCESS OR MECHANISM DESCRIPTION

I-Balance is an innovative weighing balance created to cater to people of any age with ease. With minimalism in trend, the modern scale is designed to fit and save space. Sizing up to a book, the tri-fold balance can be downsized to 3 x 8 inches, making the product handy and portable. Despite its delicate nature, this scale could take larger loads than any competing products in the market. The sustainable mechanism is solar-powered, eco-friendly, and requires less maintenance. It is made with flexible photovoltaic cells rounding up to 1.4 mm thick, making the product look thin. I-Balance is easy to use and requires no other attachments after its purchase.

a. Photovoltaic Cell

A photovoltaic (PV) cell is a form of energy harvesting that uses the photovoltaic effect to transform solar energy into usable power. PV cells can be shaped and resized accordingly; however, the material always relies on semiconductors to interact with solar photons to produce an electric current.


b. Unit Converter

A Unit Converter is an innovative tool that can generate people with the common categories of units used in daily life. The conversion calculator has the ability to convert between units of weight.


ASSEMBLY AND TESTING

Our innovative design of counting scales can satisfy any accuracy requirement for any part, no matter the size. In addition to scales our I-Balance, provides other tools and instruments proven to reduce cost and improve the quality of your finished goods. By calculating the force between the object being weighed and the Earth, scales determine how much something weighs.

Weight scales can measure mass in kilograms, grams, pounds, and other units of measurement in addition to force, which they can measure. Modern scales are more adaptable and have a variety of applications. Applications include weighing compounds in the laboratory and goods for delivery. Scales are an essential part of modern life, from the tiny, finely calibrated laboratory scales to the 10 x 120-foot pit and girder machines that weigh train cars and tractor trailers. Knowing about mass and weight can help you better grasp how scales work.

I-Balance focuses on being convenient in times of need especially for people who have businesses and people who always go to the market that is why we designed it to be a portable specifically foldable into linear product that can be easily stored and carried here are some specific details of our product

Auto power-off, powered by solar cells, extends battery life.It can be use by simply unfolding the product powering the button and simple setting the measurement to zero just to make sure that before using the product it will accurately weigh the products. With these simple steps the product will function to its maximum capacity.


DISCUSSION

No matter what field you are in mobility and accessibility is the best characteristic of a working instrument as also its capability and features as well. That is why we innovated the traditional weighing balance. In order for a weighing balance to work it does equalize the unknown-weight material and also produce the same force that the material that was placed on the weighing balance (Equipment, 2019). On some older versions of weighing balance, the user needs to manually put counterweights of a certain weight to determine the unknown weight of the material that is being weighed. And on the latest weighing scales, it will just need a spring or anything that can resist the pressure put on the weighing balance. Furthermore, our product I-balance will make the previously advanced weighing scales into an innovative version. Usually, on the present weighing scales, there will be a single pressure plate on the center of the balance which makes the item rigid and hard to be placed.


Our product will have 4 equally distributed smaller pressure plates near the corners of the balance so that the weight could be equally distributed to the 4 pressure plates using a foldable aluminum that is coated by rubber coating so it will be nonabrasive and also sturdier. And together with that is a very thin computer to compute the exact weight that is distributed on the 4 pressure plates and that will be accompanied by small sodium-ion batteries that are charged using solar energy and its battery lifespan is much longer than the usual lithium-ion batteries which makes it more sustainable and long-lasting and most importantly eco-friendly (Etechbrew, 2022). The innovators used a sheet of aluminum because of its ability to fold and go back to its original form and its lightweight material. Moreover, to compensate for the imbalance of the plate because it can be folded the innovators decided to put a sturdy locking mechanism where when it is used it can be a rigid and sturdy weighing balance and when done it can be unlocked and folded and ready to be carried.
